Privacy Policy: Network Pulse

Network Pulse is developed by Docco Labs. This policy explains what the app does with your data. The short version: Docco Labs operates no servers and receives no data from this app.
We collect nothing
Network Pulse has no account system, no login, no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no crash-reporting service. We do not collect, store, sell or share any personal information. There is no server operated by Docco Labs for this app to send anything to.
Data the app uses on your device
Location. iOS only reveals the name (SSID) and signal strength of the Wi-Fi network you are connected to if an app holds location permission. Network Pulse requests location for that reason, and to power the optional “Broadcast Live GPS” feature. Your location is used on the device and is never transmitted to Docco Labs.
Local network information. When you tap “Scan Network”, the app discovers other devices on your local network using Bonjour/mDNS and by opening TCP connections to private-range addresses. The results, including device names, IP addresses, open ports, advertised services and response times, are stored only on your device, in the app’s own storage. Uninstalling the app deletes them.
Speed test and connection history. Results are stored on your device only.
Data that leaves your device
The app contacts these third-party services. Each is listed with what is sent and why.
Public IP lookup: ipwho.is
Used to display your public IP address on the Network tab. A standard HTTPS request is
made; your IP address is inherently visible to that service, as it is to any website you
visit. No other data is sent.
Speed testing: speed.cloudflare.com and locate.measurementlab.net
Used to measure download and upload throughput. The test transfers arbitrary
(meaningless) data to and from these servers to time the transfer. Measurement Lab
publishes test measurements as open data; see
measurementlab.net/privacy.
AI device recognition and AI insights: optional, off by default These features are inactive until you enter your own API key for a provider you choose. Without a key, no AI request is ever made and the rest of the app works normally.
When you enable them, information about the discovered devices is sent directly from your device to the provider you selected. Docco Labs is not involved and never sees it. The data sent per device is: hostname or advertised Bonjour name, vendor and model name if known, device type, open port numbers, advertised service types, HTTP server headers and response time.
Please note: device names on a home network often contain personal information, for example “Adi’s iPhone” or “Kitchen Speaker”. If you enable AI recognition, those names are sent to your chosen AI provider and are subject to that provider’s privacy policy and data-retention terms, not ours. If you would rather not share them, leave AI recognition turned off.

Your API keys are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device and are sent only to the provider they belong to.
Broadcast Live GPS
This optional feature (Settings ▸ “Share GPS with Mac”) is off by default. When you turn it on, your iPhone acts as a Bluetooth Low Energy peripheral and transmits its GPS position to the Network Pulse app running on a nearby Mac that you control. The data travels directly over Bluetooth between your own two devices. It does not pass through the internet and does not reach Docco Labs.
Because it is intended for use while driving, this feature can continue to read location while the app is in the background. It stops immediately when you turn the toggle off.
Tracking
Network Pulse does not track you. We do not use your data for advertising, do not share it with data brokers, and do not link it to your identity across apps or websites.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date above.
